Come and Play for the Ashwell Accies
There is a real buzz around women’s football at the moment, and it’s a really exciting time to be getting involved, especially with the rise of the Women’s Super League, the Lionesses doing so well in this year’s Women’s World Cup, and the recent announcement that the Women’s Euros will be held in England in three years’ time.
We currently run mixed teams in most age groups, with the focus very much on having fun, team spirit, and getting as many children involved as possible. However, many of our age groups also regularly take part in Girl’s tournaments, and if we are lucky enough to have enough girls in an age group it would be really exciting to also be able to consider entering in girl only leagues.
Our Under 10 Girls have recently had great success in the Buntingford 5 a-side tournament where they topped their table in the group stages, and reached the Cup Final against an under 11 team with girls a whole year older than themselves.
